TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Students in sure grades at Kansas private and non-private colleges will probably be required to have two new vaccinations this 12 months.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment introduced Thursday that students coming into kindergarten and first grade will want two doses of a hepatitis A vaccine.

Students coming into seventh grade will want one dose of the meningococcal ACWY vaccine. And students beginning their junior 12 months will want the meningococcal ACWY vaccine in the event that they haven’t been vaccinated earlier than their 16th birthday.

The new necessities take impact Aug. 2.

Kansas permits exemptions from vaccines solely for medical and non secular causes.
